Brain Mash

Curious? Come on in...

Hello, hello,

For me, co-facilitation isn't just about having another pair of hands; it's about the brain mash.

In this week's NeedWorkshop, collaborating with Drew Wilkinson, community organizer and co-founder of Microsoft's 10k-member sustainability community, we experienced this firsthand.

Drew's mission to make sustainability everyone's job and my facilitation expertise converged, sparking innovative ideas and transformative experiences.

This brain mash, as Drew aptly puts it, is where the magic happens.

Together, we leveraged our unique strengths and perspectives to tackle complex challenges and inspire action. Crafting narratives, fostering discussions, and designing exercises, our collaboration amplified the workshop's impact.

This brain mash isn't just about sharing expertise; it's about cultivating a culture of collaboration and learning. By working together, we enhance our skills and create opportunities for others to benefit.

When it comes being a driver of change…
Why do you do what you?

SlicedSlice what you have written in 3 paradigms

What different paradigms drive you? For example, financial, values, long-term business, mission-based, social, personal

Write a list of people in your network who are driving change that you admire and note for yourself potential brain mash opportunities.

See below for the exercise in the context of community building…

Kick-off exercise from the Community Building workshop from the book Community Builder Designing Communities for Change

So, in driving change in your life, community, or work, who in your network could you 'brain mash' with?

Curiously connecting,

always,

Perle

PS Drew and fellow co-founder of Microsoft’s Sustainabilty Community Holy Alpine are speaking out on Microsoft and their role in continuing to fund the oil and gas industry. Read it here. It’s tenacious and brave. And I’m forever thankful to them for the personal risks they are taking in speaking out.
